RCMT x AVE 2020
A unique collaboration
We are bringing together the businesses and non-profits that make-up Montana’s outdoor recreation community along with Adventure Van Expo’s incredible network of van builders and owners to showcase the incredible range of things you can do in the Great State of Montana. Best of all, it’s a free show that will have unique on-site camping opportunities for a modest fee with tons of fun stuff to do over two days.
At RCMT x AVE 2020, guests will be able to stroll through the massive outdoor exhibitor area, engage with folks from a full spectrum of Montana’s outdoor recreation community, experience dozens of examples of different adventure vans, meet their builders and check out new products for your rig.
Plus, there will be opportunities to participate in workshops facilitated by world-class outdoor recreation professionals on a wide range of topics, intended to build skills and confidence as people head out to explore the front ranges and backcountry of Montana.
RecCon will draw outdoor industry vendors, manufacturers, and retailers primarily from Montana and some from around the country.
Their booths and displays will be set up in our exhibitor area. Attendees will be able to check out the latest product offerings and even purchase products on the spot.
We are excited to be able to bring as many Montana businesses to the event as possible! There will also be several non-profits, state and federal agencies, land use groups, and off-road clubs present to show you the great work they are doing in the state.
Outdoor learning labs
We will have spaces for workshops that cover topics related to outdoor recreation in Montana.
Do you have an idea for one you’d like to host or attend?
Do you know someone who would be a fun, knowledgeable, and engaging facilitator? Let us know!
We’ll begin listing a schedule of available workshops in April. You’ll be able to check out any of the workshops on the day(s) you attend.
We will have a limited number of camping spots to offer attendees.
These are basic, no-frills spots that will not have any hookups. Still, it’s right next to the Clark Fork River at the edge of the campus of the University of Montana. Camping passes will go on sale in the Spring of 2020.
All on-site camping is restricted to motorcycles, tents, overland vehicles, and small overland trailers ONLY to keep our impact on the university campus as minimal as possible.

The University of Montana
Nestled in the heart of western Montana's stunning natural landscape, the University of Montana is a place where top-tier students, educators, and researchers from across the country and around the globe come and thrive.
UM is located in Missoula, Montana's second-largest city, with a population of 80,000 residents. The University draws a diverse population to Missoula and helps cultivate an educated, engaged, and vibrant community.
The main campus spans 56 acres at the base of Mount Sentinel along the Clark Fork River. It includes the park-like Oval at the center of campus, more than 60 architecturally unique buildings, and a 25,200-seat football stadium.
UM's 180-acre South Campus offers student housing, a golf course, soccer fields, and an outdoor track facility. Missoula College occupies two sites in central and west Missoula.
Getting to the university
Take the Van Buren Street from Interstate 90 (exits both eastbound and westbound), head south at the traffic circle, and merge into the right lane.
- At the stoplight, turn right onto Broadway Street.
- Move into the furthest left lane, and turn left onto Madison at the stoplight.
- Driving over the bridge, stay in the left lane and veer left at the fork in the road. After the fork, keep to the left and turn at the stoplight. After making a left, get into the right lane. You will be heading due east and directly in front of you will be the Adams Center. You are now on campus.

We are thrilled to have a group of amazing sponsors that have been incredibly supportive of RecCon Montana throughout the planning process. They have provided us with invaluable support, insights, and have become great friends in the process.
RecCon Montana would not work if it weren’t for the participation and support of the brands, organizations, clubs, and government agencies that are participating.
We are fortunate to have a wide variety of groups who have committed to joining us this year, and that list gets added to each day.
